Junior Helper Application (12-15 Year)

Thank you for your interest in serving as a Junior Helper at AnchorPoint Church.

This role is designed for younger participants who wish to assist in a safe and supportive environment.
Junior Helpers serve in limited assistance capacities under the direction of Approved Adult Supervisors.
Child Protection Training and a Working with Children Check are not required for this role; however, parent or guardian approval is required to participate.

Junior/Teen Helper - Code Of Conduct

As a Junior Helper (volunteer) at AnchorPoint Church, you agree to respect that AnchorPoint is a Christian church.
You don’t need to know everything about our beliefs, but you should honour how we live them out.
This commitment will be read and signed together with your parent/carer.

While serving, you agree to:

Your Role & Attendance
  • You’ll be given a simple role description and a roster.
  • If you can’t come on a day you’re rostered, let your Team Leader know as early as possible so they can try to find someone to fill in.

How You Behave
  • Treat everyone with kindness and respect.
  • Use clean, positive language.
  • Work well with your team and listen to your leaders.
  • Be honest and do your best in your role.
  • Use phones/devices appropriately while serving.
  • Wear appropriate clothing for your role.

Safety
  • Ask before giving hugs or any physical contact—some people may not be comfortable with it.
  • Never be alone in private areas with children younger than you.
  • When you are not serving in a child-related ministry, you must stay with your “Buddy” (Approved Adult Supervisor) when serving in a team separately from a parent or guardian.
  • Stay in supervised areas at all times.
  • Tell your Team Leader or a Pastor straight away if you feel unsafe or see someone being treated badly.

Confidentiality
  • Some things you see or hear while serving are private.
  • Do not gossip or share personal information with friends or online.

Speaking Up
You agree to tell a leader if:
  • Someone is hurt, unsafe, or being treated wrongly.
  • Someone is being bullied or is in danger.
  • You feel uncomfortable about anything during serving.

Public Communication
  • Do not post or share anything online on behalf of the church.

Simple Statement of Faith

This is a simplified version of our AnchorPoint Statement of Faith, if you want to find out more [here].

At AnchorPoint we believe:
  1. God loves everyone and is Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit.
  1. Jesus is God’s Son, who lived, died and rose again. He will return.
  1. The Holy Spirit helps us live God’s way.
  1. The Bible is God’s word, our foundation.
  1. Sin is real, but Jesus forgives us.
  1. The devil is our adversary, but we have authority over him through Christ.
  1. Baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues as a gift available to believers
  1. Church is God’s family, and we work together to share His love.
