Discover the Joy of Serving

At AnchorPoint, we believe that everyone has a part to play in building God’s house. Volunteering isn’t just about filling a need—it’s about being part of a family, using your gifts to make a real difference in the lives of others. Whether you’re greeting others as part of our Connections Team helping with AnchorKids, joining the Worship Team, setting up for services with the Facility Set Up/Pack Up Team, serving coffee in the Café, or supporting behind the scenes with Finance/Bookkeeping or Comms/Promotion, or any of the other valuable AnchorPoint roles, every act of service matters. Each role—big or small—contributes to creating a space where people can encounter God’s love and find community.

When you volunteer, you become part of something bigger than yourself. You’ll build meaningful relationships, grow in your faith, and discover the joy that comes from giving your time and energy to serve others. If you’d like to get involved, fill out the form below—we’d love to help you find the perfect place to serve!

VOLUNTEER FAQ's

How can I start volunteering at AnchorPoint Church?

To begin your volunteering journey with us, please fill out the volunteer form provided below. Our team will reach out to discuss opportunities that align with your interests and skills.

Are there training or other requirements to volunteer?

Yes, all volunteers must complete essential safety onboarding and sign a code of conduct relevant to their role. This is a requirement of the church's insurer and C3 Australia and ensures that you are covered by the church's insurance policy while serving.

Can I volunteer with the Worship Team?

Serving on the Worship Team is an incredible opportunity to use your gifts to honour God and lead others into worship. An audition and onboarding process may be necessary to ensure that team members are sufficiently capable or volunteering in their role. Our team will be happy to discuss the process with you and help you take the next step if you're interested.

How much time is required to volunteer?

The time commitment varies depending on the role and your availability. Whether you can serve weekly, monthly, or during special events, we have opportunities that can fit your schedule.

Can I volunteer with my family?

Absolutely! We encourage families to serve together and have roles suitable for various age groups. Serving as a family can be a rewarding way to grow together in faith and community.

Can I volunteer in any area of church life?

While we welcome volunteers across various ministries, some areas have specific requirements or specialized onboarding processes. Our team will guide you through these details to ensure you find a role that suits you best.

Can I volunteer with AnchorKids or AnchorYouth?

To volunteer with children or young people, we require that you have been attending AnchorPoint for a minimum of six months—this is in line with best practice in Australia. However, there may be other roles, such as helping with kids’ check-in or admin, that you can step into sooner. We also have a best practice onboarding and child protection training system for all volunteers working with children. For more information, please visit our Safe Church Page.

Do I need to be a member of AnchorPoint Church to volunteer?

While membership is not mandatory for all volunteer roles, we encourage regular attendance and involvement in church life to ensure alignment with our mission and values.

What support will I receive as a volunteer?

Volunteers receive training, resources, and ongoing support from ministry leaders to equip them for their roles. We value our volunteers and are committed to providing a positive and fulfilling serving experience.
